The North Sea, the largest ocean on our doorstep , has many faces: wide tidal environments , high dunes, flat holms and rugged coastlines. Its beaches attract every season to not only tourists but also countless seals. And beneath the cool sea surface hides a varied and fascinating underwater world : Whether majestic basking before the chalk cliffs of Dover or combative gray seals on the beach of Helgoland , whether mighty squid on the Dutch Oosterschelde , or creepy Greenland shark in the Fjords of Norway - to more than 2,000 days of filming under and water accumulated expert teams rarely Filmed and bundled this a truly spectacular movie: THE NORTH SEA - OUR SEA. After the movie hits "Russia - In the realm of tigers, bears and volcanoes ", " Serengeti " and " The Green Miracle - Our Forest " brings the NDR nature film company DocLights together with Polyband now THE NORTH SEA - OUR SEA as a unique cinematic experience to the canvas. For two years, some of the most renowned cinematographers were on their way to capture the unique diversity of fauna and flora, which has the North Sea and its coasts to offer in stunning images. Here, more than 60 locations were visited in Germany , Denmark, Norway, Scotland , England and the Netherlands, and resorted to the latest camera technology. Thus, the high-resolution, gyro-stabilized Cineflex HD camera system allows fantastic shots from the helicopter , the super slow motion are used in the grandiose air show of gannets to particular advantage , and thanks to the unique rebreather system that does not produce bubbles , underwater cameraman comes up close to gray seals . As narrator Grimme Award winner and Crime Scene Commissioner Axel Prahl could be won . The Schleswig-Holstein veteran , makes his inimitable timbre and his typical dry humor that the stunning photos of THE NORTH SEA - OUR SEA come to life miraculously and remain long in your memory.
